History of Grama Panchayat
Koruthodu was established in 1948 as part of a government food production scheme after World War II. Farmers migrated into the dense forest region near Sabarimala, cleared the land, and built a new life amidst severe hardships, wild animals, and isolation. Through unity, hard work, and determination, they transformed the wilderness into a thriving village. Today, Koruthodu stands as a symbol of resilience, community spirit, and harmony with nature.
